Private Alistair Hodgson3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment

Having been injured Northern Ireland in May 1992, Alistair was medically discharged from the Army in 1993, and has since devoted his time to the sport of skydiving, both competing and coaching. Over six consecutive years Alistair and his team mate (his wife Pixie) have been British Freestyle Champions, as wellas World Championship Silver Medallists, and two-time World Championships Bronze Medallists.Alistair was the UK’s first bilateral lower limb amputee skydiver and world’s first bilateral lower limb amputee to be trained as a skydiver post injury. He also coaches other skydivers (able bodied) in artistic disciplines: “One of the most rewarding things I am involved with is passing on my knowledge to some of our more recently injured veterans, also bilateral lower limb amputees, helping them to become better and more skilled skydivers.”Alistair is proud to represent The Army benevolent fund / the Soldiers charity as an Ambassador, helping to raise funds and the profile of our national military charity to help them continue with the invaluable work they do
