Cathy Braddick-Hughes
Adjutant General Corps, Legal Services

Cathy sustained a back injury as a result of a security incident whilst in Afghanistan which has left her with permanent back and lower limb impairment.

Cathy has, and is still suffering from, PTSD from serving both in Bosnia and Afghanistan.  She shows immense strength in gradually dealing with this destructive injury and has been painted symbolically emerging from the ‘darkness’.

Cathy was medically discharged from the army due to her injuries in 2018. She is currently studying a masters at the University of Exeter in International Law Conflict and Security. She is an ambassador for H4H and actively promotes awareness of PTSD and its effects, for which she has given evidence to the Defence Committee.
